Advanced Certificate in Cyber Security – Course Overview
The Advanced Certificate in Cyber Security is a structured, industry-aligned training pathway designed to equip learners with the essential technical competencies and practical skills required for entry-level and intermediate roles in the cybersecurity sector. This certification consists of four stackable modules, including three foundation modules and one elective module, all of which follow recognized CompTIA syllabus, ensuring relevance to real-world job demands and global certification standards.
Learners who complete CompTIA A+, Security+, and Linux+ (the foundation modules), along with one elective module—either CompTIA CySA+ or CompTIA PenTest+—will be awarded the Advanced Certificate in Cyber Security.
Foundation Modules (3 Required)
Module 1: CompTIA A+ – IT Support & Infrastructure Fundamentals
This module builds a strong foundation in IT support, covering hardware, operating systems, networking basics, and essential troubleshooting skills. It prepares learners to manage IT infrastructure, perform system diagnostics, and maintain secure device configurations—key competencies for all cybersecurity roles.

Module 2: CompTIA Security+ – Core Cyber Security Principles
This module introduces essential cybersecurity concepts including threat intelligence, security controls, risk management, and incident response. Learners develop the ability to secure networks, apply cryptographic principles, and implement access management strategies. Security+ provides a critical foundation for all subsequent cybersecurity training.

Module 3: CompTIA Linux+ – Linux Systems & Security Administration
Linux is the backbone of servers, cloud systems, and security tools. This module trains learners to configure, maintain, and secure Linux environments through command-line operations, file permissions, scripting, and network configuration. Linux+ is essential for learners pursuing roles in system administration, security operations, and cloud security.

Elective Modules (Choose 1)
Module 4A (Elective): CompTIA CySA+ – Cybersecurity Analyst
This elective focuses on security analytics, threat detection, SIEM monitoring, and behavioral analysis. Learners gain practical experience in incident response, vulnerability management, and security automation. CySA+ prepares learners for roles in Security Operations Centers (SOC), threat detection teams, and defensive security functions.

Module 4B (Elective): CompTIA PenTest+ – Penetration Testing & Ethical Hacking
This elective provides hands-on training in offensive security. Learners will conduct vulnerability assessments, exploit network and application weaknesses, and perform post-exploitation activities using industry-standard tools. PenTest+ prepares learners for roles in penetration testing, red teaming, and ethical hacking.
